Forest Bathing at the Caledon-King BioBlitz

  • Caledon, ON, L0J Canada (map)

Imagine yourself in the heart of a forest. You can hear the sound of leaves rustling in the wind. You can hear birds chirping above you. As you look down, you notice the soil and can smell its earthy richness. As you look up, you notice the light carefully sifting through the trees and landing softly on the ground below you.

Forest Bathing, from the Japanese word "Shinrin-Yoku,” is a practice based on mindfully connecting to the natural world.

Forest Bathing has been scientifically proven to improve immune system functioning, reduce stress, and improve your mood. Deepening our relationship with nature has other benefits as well. It helps us to feel more content, to be more creative in how we approach challenges, and to feel more at ease.

The event will be held during the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust's Caledon-King BioBlitz and will be a rain or shine event. There will be lots of interesting activities happening during the day so make sure to check out and register for the King BioBlitz event as well!
