Fall Paddling & Wellness Retreat

October 4-6, 2019

Slow down, unplug, and reconnect with yourself and the natural world.

Come slow down and hit the reset button on your self-care routines with The Land and Rooted Heart during this very special canoeing and wellness retreat! This weekend retreat takes place on a quiet and easy to access lake in the heart of the Kawartha Highlands Signature Site, one of Ontario’s premier canoe and kayak parks, right in our backyard, and within a two-hour drive of Toronto.

Expert Outfitting & Guiding

Our partner, The Land - Canadian Adventures, offers world class programs, guides, and outfitting. All the gear you need, from tents and sleeping bags to boats and barrels, are included in the retreat fee. Expert guides ensure our canoes move safely and swiftly, our camp runs smoothly, and our bellies are full and satisfied. On top of all that, they are happy to share their passion for the outdoors and pass on some of the wisdom they’ve collected over the years. This small, family-run business is a local gem based in Apsley, just outside of the Kawartha Highlands Signature Site where we will be spending our retreat. Check them out on Facebook and Instagram!

Yoga & Meditation

Practices offered will include sunrise and sunset yoga, meditation, and breathwork practices. Truly accessible to all levels, instruction is provided from the perspective of helping participants turn inwards and cultivate self-care. We will practice at our campsite beside the lake or perhaps at the top of Blueberry Mountain, while taking in the gorgeous view of Crab Lake and the fall colours of the surrounding landscape.

Forest Bathing and Nature connection

Our forest bathing practice is designed to help you reconnect with the natural world that we are all a part of. This practice calls us to slow down and get in tune with our senses, the way nature intended. We will walk a short distance while taking part in a variety of nature connection activities designed to suit our surroundings and the weather of the day, share our experiences within the group, and enjoy a special wild-crafted herbal tea.
